First Fundraiser

Today is the Mull of Kintyre run, an annual Campbeltown event that encourages our Diaspora to return to the Wee Toon. So the opportunity was taken to have a couple of stalls, one selling soup and baking, and the other launching the “Slate Sales”.

"What is the Slate Sale?" I can hear you ask.

This is an opportunity to commemorate a family member or important event for all time and at the same time contribute to the project.

Buy a slate and write a few words to mark that person’s life or the important family event. An Ideal Wedding Present! Great way to record the birth of a grandchild. We will use the slate as part of the roof of the renovated Old Free Church School so your words, your writing will be recorded for all time, a bit like a time capsule.

What do you get for £10?

· A slate on the roof,

· A certificate, a copy of which will be bound into a book to be kept in the bunkhouse. AND

· The knowledge that you have assisted in an important Campbeltown Renovation Project.
